Lanceleaf Coreopsis is a gorgeous, long-blooming addition to garden borders, providing bright yellow summer color. The flower is frequented by pollinators and birds feed on its seed. It is also host plant for several moth species.
Coreopsis grows in full sun in medium to dry soils. It grows 1 to 2 feet tall, forming small clumps. The long, slender leaves are 3 to 4 inches long and are most abundant near the bottom of the plant. It blooms in early to mid summer. The fading blossoms can be dead-headed to keep blooms coming.
This easy growing plant is drought tolerant. Though not a long-lived perennial, it spreads easily by seed.
